Is this an official WhatsApp product?
No. HeadsUp uses the linked device feature, just like WhatsApp Web. That is not part of the official business API, so there is a small risk: WhatsApp can end the link or, at worst, temporarily restrict your WhatsApp account. HeadsUp only reads along and never sends messages, which is what WhatsApp mostly looks at. You can unlink any time, in HeadsUp or in WhatsApp itself.
Can others in the group see that I use HeadsUp?
No. HeadsUp only reads along and sends nothing, not even read receipts.
Does it work for work groups too?
Yes. Client groups, project chats and team groups work the same: you choose which groups HeadsUp reads. To have your 1:1 chats with clients or candidates read as well, you need Business. Works with WhatsApp and the WhatsApp Business app. Numbers that run through the WhatsApp Business API are not supported.
Does my phone need to stay on?
No. A linked device keeps working when your phone is off. If your phone has not been online for about two weeks, WhatsApp ends the link and you link again.
Is there an app?
The iPhone app is on the App Store. The Android app is on Google Play. The web app works on any device.
How good is the AI at finding tasks?
Usually good, not always perfect. Think of it as a second pair of eyes. In doubt? Tap the task and you see the messages it came from.
Does it work for my partner or colleagues?
Yes. With Family, you and your partner or housemate each link your own WhatsApp. With Business you add colleagues for €30 per person per year, excl. VAT. Everyone gets their own list.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. You can unlink and delete your account in the app. Everything is gone right away.
