How it works

Set up in three steps. Then you are done.

    Log in with your email

    You get a six digit code. No password to remember.

  2. Step 2

    Link your WhatsApp

    Scan a QR code with your phone, just like WhatsApp Web. HeadsUp becomes a linked device.

  3. Step 3

    Pick your groups

    Only the groups you switch on are read. Your family chat and your friends stay out of it.

  4. Then

    Your overview every morning

    In the app and in your inbox, at the hour you choose. Tick off what is done, and that is it.

Privacy

Reads along. Says nothing.

These are messages from you and from other parents. We treat them with care.

  • Read only

    HeadsUp never sends messages and never replies to anything.

  • Only the groups you pick

    Messages from other chats are not stored. From your chosen groups we keep text only, no photos or voice.

  • Gone after 14 days

    Raw messages are deleted after 14 days. Only the action items stay.

  • AI without data retention

    We only use AI services that do not store messages and do not train on them.

  • Stop any time

    Unlink or delete your account. Your data is removed right away.

Questions

Honest answers.

Is this an official WhatsApp product?

No. HeadsUp uses the Linked devices feature, the same one WhatsApp Web uses. WhatsApp has not approved this service. The risk is small but not zero: WhatsApp can end a link or, in the worst case, restrict an account. Because HeadsUp only reads and never sends anything, it behaves like a normal user with WhatsApp Web open.

Can other parents see that I use HeadsUp?

No. Only you can see a linked device, in your own list of linked devices. HeadsUp sends nothing to the group.

Does my phone need to stay on?

No. A linked device keeps working when your phone is off. If your phone has not been online for about two weeks, WhatsApp ends the link and you link again.

How good is the AI at finding action items?

Usually good, not always perfect. Think of it as a second pair of eyes. When in doubt, have a quick look in the group itself.

What does it cost?

HeadsUp is free while in beta. If that changes, you will hear about it well in advance and you decide whether to stay.

How do I stop?

Unlink in HeadsUp, or on your phone under Linked devices. Delete account in the settings removes all your data right away.

A dad with too many group chats.

I am René, dad of three. Between hockey, school and clubs I am in about twelve parent groups. I half read them, scrolled past them, and still missed that we had to bring fruit or that it was my turn to drive on Saturday.
